I Want Your Picture But Not Your Words
I finally got the chance to see The Beach House play live when they opened for that band The Clientele. I don't really get that geeked out about seeing a band play live anymore, but i did for them. My second favorite record of 2006 and still something I lean on heavily in 2007. They were better than beautiful and we wanted to leave after they were done so as not to ruin the evening hearing any other music.

Cat Wangs
Granny Feng's tom cat has sprouted two hairy 4ins long wings, reports the Huashang News.
"At first, they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings," she said.
Feng, of Xianyang city, Shaanxi province, says the wings, which contain bones, make her pet look like a 'cat angel'.
Her explanation is that the cat sprouted the wings after being sexually harassed.
"A month ago, many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow," she said.
However, experts say the phenomenon is more likely down to a gene mutation, and say it shouldn't prevent the cat living a normal life.

Cat Wait Another Day
The awesomeness of the new Ladybug Transistor record Can't Wait Another Day starts with the cover star Token.
From GaryOlson "It was very strange. The moment we sat down for the photo, the cat waltzed in like he owned the place... sat down next to me and was crawling on Julia's lap. We found out later from the guard that his name is Token. He was adopted by the museum a few years ago. Here is a nice shot of him. Such a poser!"
My favorite Ladybug Transistor record since The Albermarle Sound, out on June 6th from Merge
From the new record:
Always on the Telephone
I love many Ladybug songs but I have to say that this one is maybe my favorite

Breaking News
Report: Only 7 Band Names Remaining
NEW YORK—According to data released Monday by the International Registry of Rock Band Names, only seven of the estimated 518 million potential names for musical acts remain available.
"Following the selection of 'The Stripped Amygdaloids,' 'A Purple Spray Of Cloth Violets,' and 'Guestowel' this past weekend, it is essential that new bands pick a name as soon as possible," read a statement on the organization's website. "Bands that wish to form after all names have been taken will be have to wait until a name becomes available, which could take anywhere from 10 minutes to 30 years."
While a MySpace page was created late Monday under the title Whiteboard Ether, one of the few band names left, the IRRBN has not yet confirmed whether the group has actually played any gigs.

Bus Cat
Bus drivers have nicknamed a white cat Macavity after it has started using the No 331 several mornings a week.
The feline, which has a purple collar, gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus at the same stop most mornings - he then jumps off at the next stop 400m down the road, near a fish and chip shop.
